This 19th-century château in Meursault, Burgundy, near Beaune, is built above the oldest 12th-century Cistercian cellars and will offer 35 rooms and suites, a fine dining restaurant, an Alaena spa, exceptional wine cellars and a seminar room. Surrounded by historic cellars, UNESCO-listed vineyards and wellness experiences, this boutique hotel in Burgundy invites guests to discover the art of living of the Côte d’Or.
A Château Steeped in History in Burgundy
Beneath the château’s foundations stretch impressive 12th-century Cistercian cellars, carved out by the monks of the Abbey of Cîteaux to vinify and preserve wines from the vineyards of Meursault, Burgundy. In the 19th century, the château was built above these historic cellars, creating a singular architecture where monastic heritage meets bourgeois elegance. Today, the estate preserves the memory of Burgundy wine country — a land shaped by vines, patience and the passage of time.
