Gourmet restaurant in Meursault

A meeting with the terroir of Burgundy

In Meursault, in the golden lounge of Château de Cîteaux, the restaurant Célestine celebrates Burgundy through generous and contemporary cuisine, guided by the seasons, the richness of the terroir, and the accuracy of tastes. Beneath the restored frescoes of this historic residence, each plate extends the vibrant dialogue between the Château, the vineyard, and those who shape it.

The spirit of Napoleon III at the heart of the Château

In one of the historic lounges of the Château de Cîteaux, the Célestine restaurant revives the spirit of Napoleon III in an elegant and serene interpretation. Beneath a poetically painted ceiling, light glides over the restored woodwork, and the gardens invite themselves into the background, creating a setting that is at once heritage-rich, sensitive, and contemporary. A rare atmosphere, designed for savoring Burgundy in all its sweetness.

The restaurant's name originates from an intimate detail of its decor. Among the grisaille medallions representing the arts appears the portrait of Célestine, daughter of Jules Bernard, the commissioner and owner of the Château in the 19th century. This first name also echoes the painted ceiling, populated by cherubs soaring in a celestial cloud.

A Burgundy-inspired kitchen

Chef Christophe Vauthier's cuisine, with its Burgundian roots, is deeply grounded in the Burgundian terroir while offering a contemporary interpretation of regional classics. Seasonal products take center stage: Bresse poultry, vegetables from local market gardeners, Burgundy snails, freshwater fish, and carefully selected cuts of meat. The recipes draw inspiration from the culinary traditions of the vineyards, emphasizing precise cooking techniques and clear, distinct flavors. Each dish strives for a balance between Burgundian generosity and gastronomic elegance. Throughout the seasons, the menu evolves to reflect the rhythm of the vines and the bounty of the region.

For dinner, discover the seven-course Signature menu, a gastronomic experience imagined by the Chef as a journey to the heart of Burgundy. While every Sunday lunchtime, enjoy a convivial atmosphere around the Cîteaux Brazier, where local products are tasted to the rhythm of generous, wood-fired cuisine.

Tastings of Premier Crus and Grand Crus, meetings with winemakers, introductory oenology workshops, and discoveries of Burgundy cheeses punctuate your stay with close proximity to the vines and local expertise.
